Our beloved Mother and Nana Lydia Gholston of Canton, Mississippi passed away at the age of 82 years to be with our heavenly father on Sunday, September 10, 2017. Everyone who knew her loved her. Lydia was a member of the Steelton PA Elks, Shiloh Missionary Baptist of Lockport, IL, and she also attended the Hawthorn Community Center where she spent time with her wonderful friends enjoying shopping trips, field trips, special events and volunteer activities. She also was an avid bingo player to which her family fondly referred to as her “second job”. Nana was an inspiration and a loving soul to all, especially her family. Her honesty, loyalty, hard work, selfless acts, and compassion for others describe how she lived every day.

Awaiting her arrival in heaven are her mother Ollie Kelly; father James Kelly Sr. and stepmother Ollabelle Kelly; and her beloved son Dana Gholston. Nana leaves behind her husband James Gholston; daughter Kelly Garnett; sons Michael (Belinda) Gholston, Weslyn Harden, Ollie (Tina) Gholston, and Bobby (Lisa) Gholston; step-daughter Diane Hester-Yarbough; step-son Edward (Janet) Hester; her loving sister Lillian Butler; brothers Albert Terraine and James (Octavia) Kelly Jr.; two brothers-in-law Roosevelt Gholston and Robert Gholston; sisters-in-law Ollie Ruth McCullum and Eddie Bee Edwards; grandchildren Jason, Lakisha, Angie, Lydia, Melissa, Candace, Harrison, Rodney, Cadeidra, Brittany, Cierra, Alicia, Shea, Mia, Tina, Erica, and Janice; a Goddaughter Ashyra; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 great-greatgrandchildren; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, and friends whom she loved with her whole heart.

Nana you will always be a part of our lives and in our hearts. We will ALWAYS love you.
